About the Owners and Their Cabin

Dear Web Visitors,

Bob and I are originally from Colorado and we both still have a lot of family living there. When we moved to California, a portion of our hearts remained in Colorado. About 22 years ago, we purchased a cabin on the Big Thompson River near Estes Park, Colorado, a dream of ours since our early married life. We recently remodeled the cabin, adding a larger master bedroom (sleeps 2) featuring a master bath, walk-in closet, vaulted ceilings, a great view of the river, and a king-sized bed with an Ultrapedic (NASA memory foam) mattress for a great night's sleep. We remodeled the rest of the cabin also, enlarging it to about 1,000 square feet (originally 700 square foot.) The second bedroom sleeps 2 very comfortably, plus, we have a full-size futon in the living room that sleeps 1.

We just recently moved back to Colorado. We just love spending time at the cabin; but, since we're not there all the time, we thought it would be fun to rent it out to people like you, friends we just haven’t met yet, so you could get a little taste of heaven on earth too.

We want it to feel like you’re at home, not a motel, so we’ve tried to include all the comforts of home like: telephone, a wood burning fireplace for cozy evenings, televisions in both the living room (with DVD) and master bedroom with DVD/VCR player - both with DISH satellite, a well-equipped kitchen, two bathrooms, a walk-in closet in the master bedroom and a nice sized closet in the second bedroom. A coat closet in the living room can double as a clothes closet for someone sleeping on the futon. We have a single car garage (additonal $25 per rental - see rental rates), a nice deck out the front door with a gas grill, and my favorite – a picnic area down by the river which is our own private area. I call it my "Calgon©, take me away." We have wireless high-speed Internet so you can work, if you must, but still enjoy the relaxing sound of the river.

If you’re not familiar with Estes Park, it is a very lively resort town with its boundaries right up to Rocky Mountain National Park (one of the top 10 national parks visited each year). Estes has many exciting events throughout the year including an annual Christmas parade the day after Thanksgiving, a rodeo in July, fireworks at the lake on the 4th of July, lots of summer concerts and entertainment, a parade of antique cars up the Big Thompson Canyon on Labor Day, a Scottish Festival in October, a Jazz Festival, many hiking trails, fishing lakes, and the list goes on and on.

We appreciate you checking out our website and if this sounds like a great vacation place, please send us an email with dates you’re interested in, the number of adults and children, and the number of beds needed. See our calendar that will give you open dates. We rent our cabin on a daily basis with a three day minimum or if you want to really relax, we have weekly rentals too which give you a discount. Our cabin sleeps 5 comfortably.

If you have a small, well-mannered dog, please indicate this on your request for rental (see our rental rates for details). Upon approval, you may bring your pet with you. We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Patricia and Bob Stoffregen
